" I’ve been attending SPU since before Christmas, and every Sunday since. I wanted to rebuild my relationship with God and my spirituality. I started attending another church, and when it came time for my wife and I to get married, they did not want to marry us. So I reached out to a friend. I was like, I need a pastor who's black, and gay, and understanding and affirming. She was like, “Oh great! My pastor!” That’s when she introduced me to Leslie and St. Peter, and it’s been a wonderful experience ever since. My favorite memory so far is actually my first time coming to St. Peter United. When I walked through the doors - I felt like I was safe. I felt comfortable. I just felt at home. "
